Talia Berman

I am a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney. I am also an Associate Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association and the Australian Psychological Society.

In the Beginning

Born and raised amongst the diverse cultural landscape of Sydney, I grew up with an innate curiousity to explore the world around me. Before establishing my career as a psychologist, I travelled to many countries, spending brief periods of time living and working throughout New Zealand, New York and London.

My experiences meeting and connecting with people from all over the world spurred my interest in pursuing a career with a strong focus on human connection. Combining this interest with my passion for helping people and human sciences, I decided to pursue a career in psychology.

My Therapeutic Frameworks

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and incorporates elements of:

  • Schema Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy

A Passion for a Schema-Informed Therapy

I believe that life experiences, including those endured during childhood, often play an important role in shaping a person’s beliefs and approaches to life.  Where appropriate, I incorporate a schema-informed therapeutic approach to help adolescents and adults develop a deeper understanding of themselves with the aim to facilitate growth and positive change.
