I’m a Clinical Psychology Registrar passionate about helping people access psychological interventions at the earliest stage possible. I have completed Masters level training at The University of Sydney. In addition, I have completed degrees in Medical Science and Public Health.
I have always been interested in the big philosophical questions about life and how to live.
Initially, I studied medical science and public health, as I was interested in the healthcare system and what motivated individuals to engage in healthy behaviours.
My experiences supporting people with HIV, homelessness, encountering people of diverse backgrounds through my travels and participating in a meditation retreat, led me to realise I had an innate ability to connect with people and that this gave me true fulfilment.
I have experience conducting assessments and evidence-based treatment for anxiety and trauma with a variety of age groups in both hospital and community health settings.
I am passionate about prevention and accessible mental health care. As such, in addition to seeing clients at McKinnon Psychology, I also provide early-intervention at a not-for-profit organisation.
I have contributed to research conducting assessments and interventions for projects at The University of Sydney and Macquarie University. I have published my Masters thesis on the experiences of rural cancer patients when making treatment decisions.
I have a warm and genuine approach to therapy, balancing kindness, fairness and respect. I am grounded in the scientist-practitioner perspective, embracing self-evaluation and growth. I believe in empowering clients to make helpful choices and to be the agents of change in their own lives.
I focus on helping children, teenagers and adults with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and adjustment to trauma and difficult life experiences.
